WORKERS COMPENSATION

Workers’ Compensation

When a worker is injured or suffers an illness and seeks compensation for lost earnings, medical expenses, rehabilitation and other associated costs as provided by the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 (Act).

If the strata company employs whether paid or in kind anyone including contractors and sub-contractors the strata company must have a Workers Compensation policy.

Workers’ Compensation insurance

Questions to ask when considering Workers’ Compensation insurance:

  • Who do you employ? e.g. Does your property have a caretaker working on behalf of strata? Does a member of the strata company get a reduction in fees for taking out the bins or doing gardening for the strata?

  • Does your current insurance plan cover them?

Do you have the right cover?
